If you have any questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy or our data practices, you may contact us at: [email protected] .
Who We Are
The controller of your personal data is QB Technologies AG, a company registered in Switzerland. This policy is governed by Swiss data protection law. Where applicable, we also adhere to international standards, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Scope of This Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to all users of Quibble and its Services, including readers, authors, and visitors. It covers data collected through Quibble’s mobile apps, the website, and any other services operated by Quibble.
What is Personal Information
“Personal Information” refers to any data that relates to an identified or identifiable individual. This includes, but is not limited to, your name, mailing address, telephone number, email address, Internet Protocol (IP) address, age, and gender. Where required, we will inform you whether the provision of certain Personal Information is mandatory and explain the implications of not providing it. If you choose not to provide such information when requested, you may be unable to access or use certain features of our Services, particularly where the data is necessary for service delivery or required by law. See Terms of Service for more information.

We collect the following types of data:

- Usage Data: such as page views, reading activity, likes and reactions, navigation patterns and timestamps of your activity
- Device and Technical Information: such as IP address, device ID, OS version, browser type, language settings and basic connection details
- Error and Performance Data: we use third-party monitoring tools to collect information about errors, crashes, and performance issues in order to improve the stability of the Platform. Quibble reserves the right to investigate violations of these Terms, suspend or terminate access to any user who engages in prohibited conduct, and take legal action where appropriate.
Why Do You Ask for My Date of Birth
Quibble is not intended for children under the age of 13, and our Privacy Policy does not extend to users below these age thresholds. We collect your date of birth to ensure that all users meet the minimum age requirement to use Quibble in compliance with applicable laws.
If you are a parent or legal guardian and believe that your child has created an account or submitted personal information without your consent, please contact us at [email protected], and we will take appropriate steps to address the matter.
If we learn that a user under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take appropriate steps to delete such information.
In jurisdictions where higher minimum age thresholds apply for certain content (e.g., mature content restricted to users 18 or older), we require users to confirm their eligibility. However, we do not currently perform identity verification. Please refer to Terms of Service for more information.
How We Use Your Data
We use the personal information we collect to operate, maintain, and improve our Services. This includes enabling you to create and manage your account, publish and interact with content, and engage with other users. Data is also used to improve the Platform's stability and to personalize your experience, such as surfacing relevant books, authors, or discussions.
Your information allows us to provide customer support and respond to inquiries, process payments and transactions, and communicate with you regarding your account, activity, or service updates. We also rely on collected data to monitor system performance, prevent abuse, detect fraud, and enforce our Terms of Service.
In certain cases, we use your data to develop new features, conduct internal research, and analyze usage trends. These activities are undertaken with appropriate safeguards and, where required, your explicit consent. We may also use your information to comply with legal obligations or respond to lawful requests from public authorities.
Legal Grounds for Processing
Quibble processes your personal data based on one or more of the legal grounds outlined in applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where relevant. These legal bases ensure that our data handling practices are transparent, lawful, and fair.
Where required, we obtain your explicit consent for specific activities such as receiving marketing communications. You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time.
We comply with legal obligations imposed by law or government authorities, which may require us to process and disclose your data in response to lawful requests, such as subpoenas, court orders, or regulatory investigations.
Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your data in the following circumstances:
- Service providers. We engage trusted third parties to help us operate, monitor, and improve the Platform (for example, hosting providers, analytics services, and error-logging tools). These providers process data only on our behalf and under contractual safeguards.
- Aggregated or anonymised data. We may share aggregated or anonymised information that does not identify you personally, for example to report usage trends or improve our services.
- Legal compliance. We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.
- Public content. Certain information you choose to make public (such as reviews, comments, or profile details) may be visible to other users.
As a Swiss company serving a global user base, we may transfer your data to countries outside your jurisdiction. Where we do so, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses, in line with applicable data protection laws.
Retention of Personal Data
We retain your personal data for as long as necessary to provide the Services or fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy. After that, data is deleted or anonymized unless we are required to retain it for legal, regulatory, or security purposes.
Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information. To make such a request, please contact us at [email protected], or log into your account to manage your profile directly. We will respond within the limits of our systems.
If you are located in the European Economic Area, Switzerland, or the United Kingdom, you may also:
